 YOUR LOCAL INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE

As an Independent, I have no party political agenda. My actions, if elected, will be as a representative of you - the people of Forres and your priorities. I have an MA in Politics from Glasgow University which gives me an understanding of the influence local people can have in decisions directly affecting them. My aim is to encourage open and transparent local government from the Moray Council. Also to encourage early and meaningful consultation with local residents regarding major changes, so decisions can be tailored to meet our local needs.

Current issues directly affecting the people of Forres which will be decided by the Moray Council include the: Location for the Travellers Site proposed at Kingsmeadows Redco Milne development at Bogton  New housing developments both at Ferrylea and Lochyhill Possible loss of Common Good land ePlanning system The Moray Council 2010 Budget Options The links above give further information on these issues.

Forres needs a strong voice to speak on its behalf. The Forres by-election is your chance to vote for Janet Kennedy, a candidate who WILL actually listen to and represent YOU, putting forward YOUR views and priorities NOT those of a political party.

Now that we have had a decision on the future of RAF Kinloss - and it is not good news - the people of Forres will require their local councillors to act strongly in the interest of our community. So I am asking you to vote for me, Janet Kennedy, to represent YOU as a local Independent councillor making the future of Forres a key issue for the Moray Council.
