Housing developments at Lochyhill and Ferrylea

Public opinion in Forres is, I'm aware, divided on the issue of current and planned/ proposed new housing developments.  Some people welcome the injection of new residents to Forres, believing it's what the town needs.  Others object fiercely to the Moray Council appearing to overlook what are often called 'infrastructure' issues ie health facilities in Forres, public transport and schools.

The allocation for future housing requirement is part of the Local Plan - for this document to remain current it should be meaningfully reviewed to look at the how the economy, infrastructure and employment opportunities have changed. The Local Plan should then be altered to take account of the changed circumstances. With the economic downturn - resulting in the Moray Council 2010 Budget Options - can the Moray Council afford to increase the infrastructure required for the new house building?
